Apabila hati diibaratkan dengan cermin, maka Anda harus tahu tentang apa sebenarnya hukum cermin. Cermin umumnya tidak bisa menampilkan gambar dari suatu objek dikarenakan lima hal, yaitu:
- Kerusakan atau ketidaksempurnaan bentuknya.
- Cermin tertutup oleh debu, kotoran dan karat.
- Cermin dipalingkan atau tidak di hadapkan ke arah objek.
- Adanya penghalang di antara cermin dan objek.
- Cermin tidak tahu keberadaan objek.
Berdasarkan hukum cermin tersebut, maka hati pun juga demikian. Hati tidak bisa mencerminkan pancaran cahaya Ilahi disebabkan lima hal, yaitu:
Pertama, adanya kerusakan atau kekurangan pada hati. Hal ini bisa terjadi, misalnya pada hati anak kecil yang belum sempurna karena belum bisa menyerap beberapa jenis pengetahuan dengan baik.
Kedua, hati tertutup oleh kotoran. Hal ini bisa disebabkan oleh menumpuknya dosa akibat banyak melakukan kemaksiatan dan menuruti hawa nafsu. Ini berarti ketaatan kepada Allah SWT. dan mengendalikan hawa nafsu merupakan cara agar hati tetap bersih dan jernih.
Ketiga, hati melenceng dari objek (Cahaya Ilahi). Meskipun hati yang diibaratkan cermin bersih, ia tidak bisa memantulkan cahaya keilahian apabila tidak dihadapkan kepada Allah SWT. yang memancarkan cahaya-Nya. Sebagaimana contoh dalam kehidupan sehari-hari ketika ada orang yang rajin beribadah kepada Allah, tetapi tidak bisa melihat cahaya ilahi dikarenakan ia tidak menghadapkan hatinya kepada Allah. Ia beribadah secara jasmani dengan gerakan-gerakan, tetapi hatinya tidak menghadap kepada Allah SWT.
Keempat, adanya penghalang (hijab) antara hati dengan Allah SWT. Ada orang yang amal ibadahnya rajin, taat kepada Allah dan mampu menjauhi maksiat, tetapi hatinya belum mendapat pancaran cahaya-Nya. Hal ini bisa terjadi karena ada hijab di antara hatinya dengan Tuhan. Hijab atau penghalang tersebut berupa keyakinan-keyakinan yang tertanam dalam dirinya melalui doktrin. Ini bisa ditemui pada orang-orang yang terlalu fanatik pada golongan-golongan atau madzhab tertentu. Artinya, telah banyak perpecahan antara umat Islam pada zaman nabi sampai sekarang yang disebabkan oleh fanatisme golongan.
Kelima, hati tidak tahu keberadaan cahaya Ilahi. Maka tugas kita sebagai pemiliknya adalah mengarahkan hati ke arah yang benar, yakni Allah Swt. agar hati bisa mencerminkan nilai-nilai keilahian. Bagaimana caranya? ya dengan Ilmu. Ilmu bisa menuntun kita pada tujuan yang hakiki. Namun, terlepas dari ilmu, Allah bisa dengan langsung mengarahkan diri-Nya pada cermin hati. Sehingga, hati bisa memancarkan cahaya-Nya. Inilah yang disebut dengan hidayah.
Dengan demikian, jika hati sudah terbebas dari lima faktor yang mengganggu tersebut maka hati niscaya secara alamiah akan mampu mengetahui hakikat-Nya, sehingga mampu melihat dan menangkap sumber cahaya sekaligus memancarkannya (nilai-nilai keilahian). Wallahu a'lam.
